About the Event

Come explore alternatives at The Modern Deathcare Expo on Sat, Oct 19th from 9am - 5pm. Admission is by donation, so bring your friends and family. Discover end-of-life options and alternatives while connecting with resources in your community.

We exist to empower families to enact their own end-of-life care and to connect them with valuable local resources. We believe in encouraging cultural reengagement in dying, death and bereavement. We believe that death planning leads to a meaningful and transformational experience.

Our Speaker Gallery unfolds throughout the day with thought-provoking sessions on green burials, death planning, palliation at home, alternative funerals, home funerals as well as advocacy and legalities within the modern deathcare movement. The Vendor Marketplace features death doulas, memorial jewelry, end-of-life books and products, bereavement support resources and info on donating your body to science, plus meaningful interactive exhibits!

Enjoy a bite to eat by V-Edge Café & Taste of Savoy in the Swan Song Lounge and engage in the art space for kids and adults alike.

Following the Expo, join us under the stars around a fire at 7pm for a guided Fire Ritual. Release, mourn, or celebrate someone while being supported in community. No participation required and admission is also by donation.
